Mike Schroeder - Mandolin & composer

Mike Schroeder

Mike is well respected as a classical mandolin player, having performed with the Louisville and Knoxville Symphony Orchestras. He founded the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra and is currently serving as president of the Classical Mandolin Society of America. He is a June Appal Grammy nominated recording artist for his work with the Buzzard Rock String Band and has served as a guest-artist for the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts Program.

Steve Cooley - Banjo, dobro & backing vocals

Steve Cooley

Steve is a three-time Grammy nominated recording artist and producer/engineer. He has performed with artists as diverse as Bill Monroe (the Father of Bluegrass), Doc Watson, David Grisman, folk legends Jean Ritchie and Hazel Dickens, to the current Hoarde Festival favorites Phish. He's been a long-time performer with the Dillard's as well.

Cathy Wilde - Irish flute & penny whistles

Cathy Wilde

Cathy's classical background laid the foundation for her unique approach to her trad Irish sound. Combined with her on-stage energy, her musicianship and performance leaves her audience breathless, not to mention herself. Cathy's been a member of Cloigheann for the past 14 years and you can catch her at almost every Celtic music session in Louisville and Lexington.

Larry Green - Fiddle & vocals

Larry Green

Larry is a fiddler from Nelson County Kentucky. Originally a student of "Fiddlin Bill Livers" in Owen County, he now plays and teaches Irish and American old time music. Larry has played with "Progress Red Hot String Band", with Jim Webb in a traditional country duo. In addition to playing with Cloigheann, Larry is a member of the Mountain Dew Hilbillies and plays with Celtic Harper, Lorinda Jones, and Cathy Wilde.

Donald Caffery - Bodhran, percussion & bones

Donald Caffery

Donald hails from County Louth, Ireland. Although a true Irish session player, Cloigheann has been Donald's main gig for the past 12 years. He has also performed along side his father and his Irish group called Gale Force. Donald is a percussive force of his own and you'll want to see and hear him for yourself.

Mark Rosenthal - Guitar & lead vocals

Mark Rosenthal

Mark has performed many kinds of music, from R & B and rock with Daddy's Car to bluegrass and roots music with New Horizon and Dozens of Dollars to classical with the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra. But for the past 15 years it's been traditional Irish that stirs his musical soul. Mark is co-founder of Cloigheann.
